John L. Keller, Ph.D., C.C.M. Founder, Principal

Dr. Keller started Weather Analytics Inc. in 2005. Dr. Keller brings over 30 years of professional experience to his specialty: detailed analysis and modeling of weather and significant weather events. Dr. Keller has applied this experience to developing numerical forecast systems that provide input for third-party models supporting a variety of applications requiring precise external environment data. Before starting Weather Analytics, Dr. Keller was a Senior Research Meteorologist at AIR Worldwide in Boston, MA, where he developed a revolutionary model for extreme storm events used as input for computer-based property damage risk assessment. Earlier, he provided scientific support for the FAA's Integrated Terminal Weather System (ITWS) and NASA's Wake Vortex Programs at MIT Lincoln Laboratory in Lexington, MA. These activities often required scientific collaboration with US, Canadian and European research groups.

Charles A. Khuen, Principal

Mr. Khuen specializes in developing high technology businesses utilizing his engineering background and over 35 years experience in the analysis, development and management of new business opportunities. His prior experience includes time as the COO of a high tech targeted marketing firm, CEO of an early stage real-time language translation startup, CEO of a digital image processing software company, and CEO of an early CRM software firm. Mr. Khuen has also served as a consultant advisor and Board member for a variety of early stage high technology companies.

Chris A. Gueymard, PhD, Advisor, Contributor (Renewables, Solar)

Dr. Gueymard is the President of Solar Consulting Services and formerly a Research Scientist at the Florida Solar Energy Center. Dr. Gueymard has been active in solar energy applications for over 35 years and has developed an internationally recognized expertise in the fields of atmospheric physics, solar resource assessment, solar radiation modeling, radiometry, and their applications for energy production or energy conservation in buildings. The models he has developed are used widely by the international solar energy community, including his SMARTS radiative transfer model used to develop spectral irradiance standards needed for testing and rating photovoltaic cells, material degradation testing, and many other applications. Born in France, he obtained a bachelor of engineering in Paris; a masters degree in applied ecology in Montpellier; a master's degree in environmental engineering in Lausanne; and a Ph.D. from the University of Montreal, Canada. He has published more than 130 scientific papers, and contributed to various textbooks including Solar Radiation and Daylight Models (2004) and Modeling Solar Radiation at the Earths Surface (2008). He is currently Associate Editor of the major scientific journal in the field, Solar Energy.

Mark J. Gibbas, Advisor, Contributor (Surface Observations)

Mr. Gibbas is the founder and President of Weather Source, which specializes in providing comprehensive historical and real-time weather station observation data and in-depth weather consulting. This information helps clients solve unique weather problems and gain a clear understanding of how weather effects their operations. Mr. Gibbas is an expert in long range forecasting, weather information systems, weather data archives, weather data quality control, and weather risk management. Earlier positions include Senior Scientist at AIR Worldwide Corporation, Boston, MA and a member of the technical staff at TASC, Inc

David E. Bradley, Advisor (Energy Modeling)

David Bradley is a Principal at TESS (Thermal Energy System Specialists) and served as lead developer and technical coordinator of the International TRNSYS development community for five years. Mr. Bradley has been working on and with the TRNSYS modeling system since 1997 in both the US and Europe. He is one of the leading experts in the application of TRNSYS to building energy use modeling and management. Mr. Bradley has worked on the development of other energy simulation software tools including EnergyPlus and Energy10.  He also served as an invited researcher with the Scientific Center for Technical Studies of Buildings in Nice, France, and as a lead developer at the University of Wisconsin Solar Energy Laboratory.

George W. Wood, Advisor (Renewables, Wind)

Mr. Wood is currently a Principal at Oak Point Energy Associated serving as an expert in renewable energy production - wind energy in particular.  Mr. Wood has a record of accomplishments in the Northeast renewable energy, wholesale and retail markets, regulatory affairs, energy efficiency, and energy services. His expertise includes understanding the market drivers and regulations in the world of wholesale, renewable and retail power transactions. Mr. Wood previously worked with UBS Warburg Energy, Dominion Energy, Energy Efficiency Capital Corp, Puget Energy Services, and Boston Thermal Energy.

Peter Baldwin, Advisor, Contributor (Energy production)

Peter Baldwin is a recognized leader in the emerging distributed energy market. He has a unique combination of technical understanding and real-world commercial experience.He is currently President of Base-e, a distributed energy marketing consulting company, and serves as president of Ramgen Power Systems. Mr. Baldwin previously worked for the Ingersoll-Rand Company in a variety of positions, including President of its subsidiary Northern Research and Engineering Corporation (NREC).  Mr. Baldwin has held a variety of executive positions with international experience in both London and Milan. Mr. Baldwin is also a contributing editor for Turbomachinery International.

Bradford S. Brown, B.A., J.D., Senior Advisor, Contributor (Data access and validation, legal applications)

Mr. Brown brings a long list of diverse skills and experience to Weather Analytics. An active attorney specializing in appellate and law and motion since 1977, Mr. Brown practices in both the private and public sectors, where he headed up an office of several hundred people, was responsible for drafting State legal forms and received both local and national honors for his work. Mr. Brown is also a web architect and software designer. His software has allowed local and state government entities to enhance revenues by tens of millions of dollars. Mr. Brown was involved in element design for a half billion dollar state computer system and also has found time to donate his services as an engineer and spokesperson for local public radio.
